DESCRIPTION:Make a Wish Foundation is looking for volunteers for the Pitchin’ for Wishes Cornhole Tournament which will be held on Saturday\, November 2nd at Freedom Park in Charlotte.  They would love to have some Crosby Scholars\, ages 14+\, be involved with the event. \nThere are 2 volunteer shifts available: \n9:30 am- 4:30 pm: Event and Scorekeeping ** biggest need** \n1:30 pm – 5:00 pm: Breakdown \nFor this event\, you must be able to work the full shift. Split shifts or shorter shifts will not be available. This is to help the event run as smoothly as possible! This event will occur rain or shine and does require long periods of standing. DESCRIPTION:HBCU College Tour – North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University and Winston-Salem State University \nA campus visit is your opportunity to get a firsthand view of a college. On November 11th\, the Crosby Scholars program will offer a FREE day trip for interested students to visit two different universities. During these visits\, students will have the opportunity to tour campuses\, attend admissions presentations\, and more. Space is limited\, so register as soon as possible! \nTo secure a spot on the tour: \nFirst\, you must register online in the Crosby Scholars portal. \nNext\, you must submit a Parent Permission Form to your Crosby Scholars representative or to the Crosby Scholars office (by fax\, or e-mail a picture of your signed permission form to ebrooks@crosbyscholarsrowan.org) by Friday\, November 8th. This form is attached to the event. Failure to submit a completed permission form by the deadline can result in forfeiting your spot on the tour to someone on the waiting list. \nMonday\, November 11th: North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University and Winston-Salem State University \nThe bus will leave from the parking lot of Extra Space Storage (725 Jake Alexander Blvd) at 9:30 am. Don’t be late! The bus is scheduled to return at 5:00 pm. \nLunch will be provided. The event will conclude at 11:45am. Please pick-up students promptly at the end of Academy. \n\nParents\, please note\, by allowing your student(s) to attend the Crosby Scholars Academy\, you are agreeing to the terms of the Parent Partnership Agreement located in your student’s portal. This agreement will remain in effect for the duration of your student’s participation in the program.  Should you not agree with these terms\, you are required to contact the Executive Director\, Jessica Vess\,  before allowing your student to attend the Crosby Scholars Academy. Once your student attends Academy\, the agreement is in effect until the student voluntarily withdraws from the program or does not fulfill a program requirement.
