Right Decisions, Right Now: Be Tobacco Free is a school-based youth tobacco prevention program with a focus on decision making skills created by Lifetime Learning Systems, Inc. and funded by Reynolds American, Inc.  Each summer, the Crosby Scholars Program sponsors a four day summer camp to encourage rising seventh through tenth grade students to remain tobacco free for life.  The summer camp features four days of workshops.  Students participate in an interactive experience that helps them to make good decisions. On the last day of camp, representatives from the W-S Police Department and the Forsyth County Health Department address health and legal issues related to tobacco use.
We offer a morning session from 8:30 to 12:30 and an afternoon session from 12:30 to 4:00. Scholars may register to attend either the morning session or the afternoon session. Lunch will be provided at both sessions.
The dates for the Right Decision, Right Now Summer Camps 2017 are:
rising 9th and 10th graders-  June 26 – 29, 2017 (Registration opens June 12)
rising 7th graders –                   July 10 – 13, 2017 (Registration opens June 28)
rising 8th graders –                   July 24 – 27, 2017 (Registration opens July 12)
The camps will be held at Goodwill Industries Inc. located at 2701 University Parkway in Winston-Salem.
Students who complete all 4 days of the summer camp and complete the Crosby Scholars Program through their senior year will be eligible to apply for a Right Decisions, Right Now scholarship.  Information about the scholarship will be available in the spring of the student’s senior year of high school.
There are 35 spaces available for each session.   Registration is on a first come, first served basis. Scholars register through their Crosby Scholars student portal.  Due to space limitations, Crosby Scholars may only attend the Right Decisions, Right Now camp once during their participation in the Crosby Scholars Program.
