An event every week that begins at 9:00 am on Monday, repeating until July 27, 2019
Free Summer Cooking Camp open to rising 7th-8th graders, hosted at Livingstone College Hospitality and Culinary Arts facility on Jake Alexander Blvd (aka the old Holiday Inn).
Students will engage in learning activities using food as a tool to apply scientific concepts to understand basic and clinical research to extend healthy life. Concepts will include:
- Measurement & tools
- Food safety and sanitation
- Food nutrition
- Agricultural concepts
The camp will be facilitated by a full-time Culinary Arts Instructor in conjunction with Culinary Arts students serving as camp counselors.
Two free 5-day camps will be offered. Students can select one week from the following:
- Monday, July 15 – Friday, July 19 each day from 9 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.
- Monday, July 22 – Friday, July 26 each day from 9 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.
Space is limited to 12 students per camp.
